The 2023 ACADIA conference welcomes applications for student scholarship

The ACADIA Student Scholarship program aims to support students and recent graduates whose Full Paper, Work-in-Progress Paper or Project Submission have been accepted. Multiple recipients will be awarded at the discretion of the ACADIA Scholarship Committee consisting of ACADIA Board Members and the Conference Chairs. These grants are specifically targeted to support members of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), architecture students from Mexico and international students from developing countries, as identified by the United Nations Development Programme. The purpose of the scholarship is to support individuals who will attend the conference to support registration and travel expenses. Only one scholarship will be awarded per paper or project submission. Winners of this award will be chosen by an ACADIA Board of Directors sub-committee and scholarships will be acknowledged during the ACADIA awards ceremony.
Application requirements

The funds must be used for the following expenses: airfare to the conference, accommodations, registration, and ground transportation. Only one scholarship will be awarded per paper or project submission. If a paper or project has been co-authored it will be the responsibility of the co-authors to distribute the funds within the group. In all cases funds should be distributed only to the author(s) attending the conference. Funds not used to attend the conference must be returned to ACADIA.

The announcement of scholarship application dates and decision schedule will be determined based on the peer-review process.
Awardees will be informed by email and will be asked to accept the grant formally and to verify their attendance at the conference at that time. All applicants will be notified of the decision on their proposal, but detailed evaluation information will not be available. Scholarship funds will be dispersed in USD shortly after the announcement.

Evaluation criteria
Evaluation of the proposals would be based on: Financial need; The quality and appropriateness of the application; The potential to significantly contribute to the organization in the future.

Institutional support
The Scholarship is intended to be a supplement to other travel funds and is not a replacement, a supporting contribution from the applicant’s home institution or other funding source is highly suggested to cover full costs for accommodation and travel.
